Under the trademarked title, Alex 100, Alexandra Township is planning a year-long celebration in 2012 to mark its centenary, kicking off with an Alexandra Business Expo towards the end of 2011, which will become an annual event. The project will draw in participants from across the spectrum of civil society, government and business, promote the Alexandra brand and celebrate the history, heritage and current achievements of the community through expos, festivals, sports days and other activities. It is initiated by the Greater Alexandra Chamber of Commerce and Industry and promoted by Adele Lucas Promotions.
